FAM J.F DE BREIJ / During my grandfather's lifetime I hardly had contact with my grandparents. It was after he died that I started to visit my grandmother again. I was inspired by her and her belongings, her mobile holiday home on the Veluwe and it's interior. I also stumbled upon several photo albums with pictures made by my grandfather. I was amazed by the resemblance to my work. I also discovered a 'perfect' family life which I knew nothing about. I made a selection of my favourite images. My grandfather worked as a portrait and documentary photographer in Rotterdam during the sixties and seventies.
