ANNE CLAIRE DE BREIJ / Naarden 1984, graduated from the Royal Art Academy in The Hague in 2008 with a photo series entitled "Over Prinsen op Witte Paarden". Her work can best be described as clear- cut, almost coldy stylized photography with an eye for detail. By shaping or staging the context of her subject, her images are the illusion of a certain reality, thereby fading the boundary between reality and fiction. The images are characterised by a disturbing aesthetic quality so that they please the eye at first sight, but at a second glance something uncanny can be discovered underlying them.
